The Daily Egyptian, a campus newspaper serving the university since 1916, provides training for approximately 100 student workers in such jobs as news reporting and editing, photography, advertising sales and account management, graphic design, layout, computer system maintenance, bookkeeping, circulation, and press operation. In addition to 9 professional and civil service employees, the Daily Egyptian also employs several graduate students who serve as writing coaches and assistants in advertising and business. The Daily Egyptian is one of the few student newspapers which owns its own press.
