The President of Southern Illinois University is the chief executive officer of the system and reports directly to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University. As chief executive officer, the president exercises such executive and administrative powers as are necessary to fulfill the duties of that office and is responsible to the Board for the effective administration of the system. The Chancellors of Southern Illinois University Carbondale and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville report to the president and are the chief executive and administrative authorities of their respective institutions. Also reporting to the president are the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice President for Financial Affairs (serving also as Board Treasurer), Director of Government Relations, Executive Director of Audits, and Board General Counsel (split between Board of Trustees and president's office). The president maintains offices in both Carbondale (Colyer Hall, 111 Greek Row) and Edwardsville (Rendleman 2105).
